ATV/Quad Accident Lawyer

Lawyer for ATV/Quad Accidents in Philadelphia

Throughout Pennsylvania, more and more people are utilizing all-terrain vehicles (ATV) as a way to enjoy the great outdoors any time of the year. For many, ATVs/quads are a highly entertaining and pleasurable experience, however, accidents involving these all-terrain vehicles are common and leave individuals severely injured. As the sales of ATVs continue to rise each year, the number of people who are injured or killed in one of these accidents are also on the rise. The causes of all-terrain vehicle accidents vary. Driver error can play a factor, as well as terrain conditions and even the presence of other ATVs.

ATV Vehicles are gaining more and more popularity among consumers. Riders of all ages use them. Many people refer to ATV's as "quads" because they have 4 wheels. Regardless of what you call them, whether ATV or Quad, the enjoyment that these vehicles can generate from riding must be carefully weighed against the risk of injury should an accident take place. In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, ATV's are quite popular, and they are regulated by the State Police. Insurance for these vehicles is not mandated, and there are no laws that require minimum coverage, so if you are hurt while riding one, the recovery can be complicated. At The Law Offices of Greg Prosmushkin, P.C., our Accident Lawyers and staff are experienced in handling ATV accidents. The consultation is absolutely free.

Here are some rules of the road for ATV which you should know. First, you cannot operate an ATV on a public road, unless it is a road designated for ATV operation. The same goes for sidewalks. It's against the law, so if you were in an accident on a major road which was not intended for ATV use, then you will need to look elsewhere for compensation. You also are required to register and license yourself for operation and renew same every two years. If you are under 8 years old, you cannot operate an ATV on Commonwealth owned land. Your ATV must also have a license plate. If you operate an ATV without a headlight on the front, or if your headlight is not on when visibility is not clear for a distance of 500 feet out, then you are violating the law. Crossing highways is prohibited unless you are 16 or older. Finally, if you are between the ages of 8 and 15, you must be on your own land, unless you meet the conditions of one of the exceptions. At The Law Offices of Greg Prosmushkin, P.C., we can help. If you or a loved one was injured in an ATV accident, please give us a call.
